I’m a bit late writing this one up (the event was back on May 29th), but it’s far too good not to share. Niltoni Studios had the pleasure of hosting the launch of Northern Uniform, a new creative collective determined to shake up the fashion scene in the North East.

The group is made up of seven incredibly driven guys: Shina Collins, Jack Eatherall, RV Vicente, Reginald Bartolome, Ayo, Pepper and Peter Alipio. They share one vision: to put Newcastle on the map when it comes to style, creativity and collaboration. While men’s fashion is where they are starting, they are making it clear they are open to working with anyone who wants to bring something fresh to the region.

The event itself was buzzing. Corey Dixon from Somebody Else’s Guy came in to do a live demo of her work, using professional footballer Amber Stobbs as a model. We also had Meg Fletcher, the acclaimed fashion and textile artist from Northumberland, sharing her creative insights, and Louie Glen from Snide adding his own flair to the night.

It was one of those evenings where everything just clicks: great energy, great people and a genuine feeling that something exciting is happening here in Newcastle. Everyone left with smiles on their faces, and I left feeling proud that Niltoni Studios could be the space for it.

If this launch is anything to go by, Northern Uniform is going to be a name worth watching.
